X. cross mark

cross mark is a series of fine vertical and horizontal lines, which are about 6 inches (150 mm) away from the bite edge of the paper. With these marks, the printer operator can unfold multiple sheets of paper to judge whether the working state of the side gauge is normal, whether there is excessive or insufficient paper pulling force. If a vertical line appears on the edge of the paper, the side gauge works normally; If the line is slightly inward, it means that the side gauge pulls the paper too much; If there are no lines at all, it means that the side gauge is not pulling enough paper

the horizontal line in the crosshair mark is used to check the registration consistency on the circumference of the drum (from the bite to the trailing tip), and a similar horizontal line should be printed on the other side of the printing paper (on the opposite side of the marking due to the close association between China's extruder products and strategic new industries) to monitor the registration consistency on this side. If the front gauge touches the paper, the overprint of the horizontal line will popularize the common sense of steel structure, which will be inaccurate and appear jagged

usually, a crosshair mark is added to the printing plate during plate making, but if necessary, the printer operator can also mark the side gauge mark on the printing plate with a scriber after debugging

gatf crosshair mark is one of the four image control marks sold by GATF, in the form of negative film and positive film. The length of the vertical line in this mark is about 7/8 inch (22 mm) and the length of the horizontal line is about 3/16 inch (5 mm). In the process of film making up, the cross mark is attached to the table paper, so that the cross mark will be printed along the regular edge of the paper, and then exposed for plate making. During the commissioning of the printing machine, the operator continuously adjusts the side gauge until a vertical mark appears on the paper. Take a few prints, first flush them on the flat surface, and then unfold them. The operator can judge whether the side gauge works normally

if there is no cross mark on the printing plate, you can also draw a cross mark on the printing plate. The following is one of the methods to place crosshair marks on the printing plate:

1. When the image is in the proper position on the paper (such as the end of debugging), mark it with ink on the side of the paper about 6 inches away from the edge of the bite, along with the development trend of lightweight and electric vehicles (this distance is consistent with the typical placement of the side gauge)

2. Put this inked paper on the paper feeding table, and put six pieces of white paper on it; Lock the fountain roller and inking roller

3. Print ten sheets of paper on the printing machine, and the ink mark will be transferred from the paper to the blanket, and then to the printing plate, and the registration is very accurate

4. Align the plastic ruler with the ink mark on the printing plate, draw a vertical line and a horizontal line on the side corresponding to the regular edge of the paper, and draw a horizontal line on the other side

in addition to the above methods, there is another commonly used method:

1. When the image is adjusted to the appropriate position on the paper (such as after debugging), cut an oval shaped wedge about 6 inches from the bite edge on both sides of the paper. The wedge must be able to accommodate at least an inch wide image, making the registration of the paper with the printing plate easier

2. Slowly jog the printer until the image on the printing plate appears. Stick the paper in the previous step on the printing plate with adhesive tape, and the two must be absolutely aligned

3. Align the plastic ruler with the edge of the paper, draw a vertical line and a horizontal line on the regular side, and draw a horizontal line on the other side
